We’re Growing: Junior Floral Designer (Part-time)
About the Role
The Junior Floral Designer will manage and execute small to mid-scale floral projects — including weekly accounts, brand activations, and intimate events — while collaborating closely with our Creative Director and our Head of Operations. This is a dynamic, hands-on role for someone who thrives in both the artistry and logistics of floral design. You’ll have creative input, client-facing responsibilities, and ownership of local production. This is a part-time position with potential future growth into full-time.
Scope of Work & Responsibilities
Design & Production
Lead design, prep, and execution for smaller-scale events and activations
Maintain Puni Petals’ design aesthetic while contributing creative input
Source flowers and materials from the Los Angeles Flower Market and other local vendors
Manage on-site installations, deliveries, and breakdowns
Handle floral processing, conditioning, and quality control
Client & Project Management
Support the Creative Director and Head of Operations in the planning, studio production and execution of small-scale projects and weekly accounts
Adhere to production schedules, timelines, and setup logistics for assigned events
Execute creative direction provided by senior team, ensuring all deliverables meet Puni Petals’ standards of design and quality
Maintain clear communication with internal and external teams, providing regular updates on project progress and needs
Studio Operations
Manage weekly accounts (restaurants, retail, hospitality, etc.) — design, delivery, rotation
Support larger event prep when needed (flower processing, packing, vase pulls, etc.)
Adhere to studio sustainability and waste management practices
Qualifications
1–3 years of floral design experience (studio or freelance)
Must currently be based in Los Angeles
Strong eye for design aligned with Puni Petals’ aesthetic
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects independently
Comfortable with client interaction and team collaboration
Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
Able to work 8-12 hours/week in studio with flexible availability to work on projects as needed (weekdays/weekends)
Physically able to lift/carry up to 40 lbs and work early mornings during market days
